Not Clearly Pro or Con to the question "Is Drinking Milk Healthy for Humans?"
"I regret that I cannot fully answer this question from the
medical/nutritional perspective since this is not my expertise. From the biological perspective, lactase persistence is a complex trait that involves genetic and environmental factors. Most adults that have a
genotype associated with lactase persistence are likely to be able to digest the milk sugar lactose, while adults who do not have the genotype will probably not be able to digest lactose. I can only speculate that for adults that have the genotype of lactase persistence milk drinking will be 'more' healthy (less side effects), while for adults that do not have the genotype of lactase persistence milk drinking will be 'less' healthy (more side effects), but a clinician is better qualified to answer this question."
